Join us near Halloween for an evening of candle-making and ancestral remembrance inspired by neshome likht, an Eastern European Ashkenazi soul-candle tradition. Traditionally made for the High Holy Days, soul candles combined prayers and ritual crafts to connect to loved ones and ancestors. We’ll adapt the practice for this season through guided reflection, personal tkhines (devotional prayers or intentions), and the making of beeswax candles to take home and light whenever you wish. Participants are invited to bring an heirloom or object that connects them to a loved one. All backgrounds are welcome, and all materials are provided.
