CRC Artist in Residence: Duo Andalus Co-presented by MaTovu and Central Reform Congregation
Our November Shir Shabbat welcomes vocalist Lala Tamar and guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Ofer Ronen of Duo Andalus, who will join Rabbi Daniel and the CRC House Band. Their music brings together Andalusian, Sephardic and Middle Eastern traditions, sung in Darija (Moroccan Arabic), Spanish, Amazigh and Hebrew. Lala is the first artist to record a contemporary album in Haquetia, the dialect of the Jews of northern Morocco, and made her Lincoln Center debut in 2023. Ofer is a flamenco guitarist and arranger based in Barcelona who studied traditional flamenco in Seville.
