Ruta Vanagaite: Lithuania's Holocaust

Ruta Vanagaite is the best-selling author of Mūsiškiai (“Our People; Journey With an Enemy”), co-authored with world-famous Israeli Nazi-hunter Efraim Zuroff. In 2016, she received the Medal of Valor from Simon Wiesenthal Center for her extraordinary work, uncovering the Lithuanian role in the mass genocide of Jews during the Second World War.

“In one fell swoop, Ruta Vanagaite's book has brought a wave of truth telling about the Lithuanian role in the Holocaust. It is of notable importance that a born and bred Lithuanian author tells the simple truth as it has never been told in a trade book not intended for scholars and specialists.” Dovid Katz, Yiddish scholar and founder of the Vilnius Yiddish Institute.

Sponsored by the Center for Jewish Learning, Congregation Neve Shalom, Ma Tovu, and private donors.
