We will explore Talmud texts pointing to the origins of Jewish prayer, the big questions they are meant to address and the role of individual creativity in spiritual life. The Builders Beit Midrash ("House of Study") offers accessible, traditional and complex study for learners of all levels of experience. This is a multi-level Beit Midrash course - all texts will be presented in the original Hebrew/ Aramaic; anyone who can sound out Hebrew words and use a dictionary is at the right level for this course.
